THE BOOT ROOM
CLIENT : Sporting Kansas City
PROJECT TYPE: Hospitality & Renovation
SQUARE FOOTAGE: ~950 SF
LOCATION: Kansas City, Kansas (Sporting Park)
DESCRIPTION:
" There is something special about added time. It’s the difference between a sport being beautiful, or just another game. When the clock has expired and any other game would be over, added time opens the door for one last hurrah. For one final magic moment. For one more drink.
Even after the final whistle has blown, The Boot Room ensures that there is always time for one more drink. One more memory. One last hurrah. In Kansas City’s most exclusive speakeasy experience, time stops."
What was once a small storage room tucked away in the Field Level Club, is now an exclusive bar where time can be extended. The Boot Room offers a unique experience for fans who are looking for an elevated pre-and-post-game treat.
ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead Interior Designer
Furniture & Lighting selection & specification

BEFORE - NORTH

Task: turn a 700 SF storage room into a high-end speakeasy while navigating security, egress paths, and code requirements.

TASK
BEFORE - SOUTH
The Boot Room gets its name from a room that is commonly seen in soccer locker rooms across the world. The design of the space mixes elevated materials with the existing raw nature of the previous storage room. Nods to soccer themes are sprinkled throughout in artwork and menu items.
CONCEPT

Common soccer terms, facility spaces, and patterns informed the name of the bar, the drinks served, and design choices. The palette looked at taking a more sophisticated approach to the existing brand and finish palette. Simple and raw building materials were used in an elegant way, balancing the grit of the space with the elevated aesthetic.

A long banquette lines a majority of the bar, allowing for varying group sizes to gather. Private nooks bookend each end of the space, providing a reservable space for more intimate group settings.
